Water

Water is a natural feature of the Japanese landscape and when used in the garden will move only in a way that is totally natural

Water gives constant motion to a composition, is always kept moving and is always crystal clear, as a symbol of purity

Water can manifest itself in the form of ponds, streams and waterfalls but never as a fountain
